I protect the electrical grid from cyber attack by day. After hours: building things worth building, chasing a sub-2:00 half marathon, and logging miles on trail and bike. This is where those worlds collide.
About Dan
I'm an IT security leader protecting critical infrastructure — specifically, the electrical grid — from cyber attack. I work at the intersection of security strategy and hands-on execution: building programs, running threat analysis, and helping organizations understand where they're actually exposed.
I'm also a Carnegie Mellon CISO Certificate candidate (graduating June 2026), doubling down on the leadership depth that strategy work demands. I lead through servant leadership — meeting people where they are, removing blockers, empowering the team.
The same mindset that makes for good security work makes for good trail work — know the terrain, move with purpose, and never stop learning what you don't know yet.
What I Write About
Security & tech by profession. Trail & adventure by compulsion. Gear by necessity.
Threat analysis, security strategy, tooling deep-dives, and what I'm building. Real-world, no fluff.
